About Us

Friends of Holtville Library was organized in May of 1980 under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service. The main purpose of the Friends of Holtville Library is to help the Holtvile (Meyer Memorial) Library with funds and materials in order to increase the Library's educational assistance value. Friends of Holtville Library helps the library keep its inventory of books and other information current and up-to-date.

Who Are the Friends of the Library?

They're members of a volunteer service organization that acts as a link between the community and our local Meyer Memorial Library, a branch of the Imperial County Free Library. The Friends promote public support and use of the library and inform members and the public of issues affecting the library. The Friends believe that a good library is important to the community. They provide financial assistance to the library's to the library's collection and programs. They raise funds for library materials and equipment not supplied by normal budget resources.

How Can You help?

You can help by becoming a member of this organization, which is one of many such Friends groups throughout the United States. Join other book lovers who want to keep the library a treasure of entertainment and information. Every new member adds to the number in our advocacy group supporting Meyer Memorial Library and its services for the people of Holtville. By paying dues, each member adds to the funds we have to help enhance the library...for our children and the community as a whole.
